Introduction of the ATEX directive has expanded the view of explosion protection to include mechanical components. The primary focus here is the prevention of hot surfaces and sparks in accordance with the latest international standards (ISO/IEC 80079).

Viscotherm can deliver drives (Rotodiff), pump units and control systems in accordance with the required explosion protection, ensuring that these products can be used directly in Ex protection zones 1, 2 (gas) and 21, 22 (dust). Solutions for explosion protection requirements from other regions (USA, Australia etc.) and regulations (IECEx, NEC 505 etc.) are also possible and have been implemented multiple times.
